At WWF we have incredible opportunity for a skilled senior media professional to join us as our Head of Media and be part of a leadership team at the forefront of driving change.

As Head of Media, you will help shape and oversee the delivery of our media strategy . We will look to you target fundraising and advocacy audiences with extensive, bold and relevant coverage across the media. You will also use the media to challenge decision makers and put pressure on them to effect change .

Leading our news and PR team , you will play a crucial role in helping amplify our voice by building relationships with key media and working with colleagues across the global organisation to find and develop agenda-setting stories. You will manage the press office , which is our first port of call for journalists, media contacts in government, business and other organisations we work to influence. Important will be the ability to develop and deliver creative ways to get our issues into the news and beyond.

You will have excellent judgement and be able to work at pace and under pressure. With experience of managing a press or media team , you will possess an exceptional understanding of the media landscape and how print and broadcast media operate. You will have been a journalist or have worked in a busy and high-profile press office . This will have given you a track record of influencing and persuading senior leaders in a range of sectors. You will have an in-depth understanding of what makes engaging content , an eye for a story as well as excellent contacts across the media mix .

Skilled at managing budgets and leading people, you will be a consummate communicator who is able to present complicated scientific subjects to varying audiences and excels at managing high performing teams, building relationships and networking . You will be able to demonstrate a commitment to the natural world and WWF’s core mission too.
