A creative business retreat for female entrepreneurs, business owners and freelancers

Friday 26th to Sunday 28th August 2022

We are seeking a wonderful group of busy, entrepreneurial women looking to unleash their creativity and take their business to the next level.

Empower & Refresh will give you a weekend to reflect, plan, create and escape the day to day.  It will be a chance to step back from hectic life and reconnect to the passion and purpose of your business whilst taking time out to nurture yourself.

You will leave with a refreshed core message for your business, new content and product/service ideas and a heart-led but business savvy action plan for the months ahead.  Alongside this, you will be buzzing with creative energy after a weekend of leaning into uncertainty, connection and your power as an entrepreneur.


It all takes place in the gorgeous surroundings of The House at Bridge of Lochay in the village of Killin, which sits in the heart of Scotland with Loch Lomond and the Trossachs to the west and rural Perthshire to the east.

The building, which dates back to 1765 when it was a coaching inn, has been carefully restored by owners, Amanda and Bob.  It is now a lovely place to spend a weekend, with lots of cosy nooks and crannies to sit, reflect, chat and pause.  There’s also a cinema room, a brand new sauna and a hot tub, right on the bank of the Lochay river.

All weekend we will have our own personal chef, the wonderful Emily Crichton from Nourish Whole Soul Food, cooking us some wholesome delicious meals.  Meat, vegetarian and vegan options will be available and we can cater for all dietary requirements.

You will leave feeling empowered, refreshed and well looked after, excited to work on as well as in your business.

The Content

The Group

Around 15 of us will come together.  The initial sign up step is a conversation with Sarah.  The most important element of this retreat is ensuring we’re bringing together a tribe of creative, fabulous peers, which is why you have to apply to attend rather than open booking.  You fitting in and gaining all the benefits of being in brilliant company is our top priority.  An optional private facebook group will be set up a month before so we can introduce ourselves to each other.

  • INSPIRED by a weekend of new ideas, fabulous new friends/peers and interesting conversations.
  • NOURISHED by a break away from normal life, sharing good food, deep thoughtful moments and lots of laughter.


We are creating a carefully curated programme which is designed with you in mind.  A mix and match selection of activities which you can choose to take part in or opt out of, so you can tailormake the experience to suit your needs.  The venue has lots of space – two large rooms, plus a cosy lounge and lots of other little nooks providing options for continuing conversations or solo reflection.  If the weather allows, we can also deliver some of the activities outside.

Activities likely to be included are:

  • A provocation & workshop revisiting and honing your core message.
  • A creative workshop making a journal that you can use for reflections through the weekend.
  • A listening circle, taking stock of where you currently are at with your business.
  • A light-hearted but meaningful ritual, writing down things that are no longer serving us, or the “shoulds” that just don’t suit us, which are then thrown with passion into the fire, releasing ourselves to lead our businesses in our own way.  Let’s rewrite the rules!
  • Early morning mindfulness.
  • Walks in the beautiful landscape with the option for some faciliated conversations around planning the next steps for your business.
  • A design thinking workshop, thinking in different ways to innovate new products and/or services.
  • A workshop on forming habits to maintain consistency and focus in uncertain times.
  • A storytelling session: how to tell your and your business’ origin story authentically.
  • An option for a 1-2-1 coaching or mentoring session with either Sarah or Emma.
  • A playful workshop on the Sunday before we all depart on writing your pirate code, freeing you from unhelpful rules and giving yourself permission to do your business your way.

The whole weekend is created around you.  As well as a stimulating programme to enhance your business we will enjoy time to rest, reflect and unwind.  There will be plenty of opportunity to come together as a group with excellent food, interesting chats, and great company.  The venue also has a cinema room, a sauna, a playroom and a hot tub – all for our exclusive use all weekend.

Booking options

Booking is through application so we can ensure we’re bringing together a group that will gel and be a powerful peer support network.  First step is to book a call with Sarah and then if it feels like a good fit, we can get you booked on.  Exciting!

All bedrooms are ensuite.  Most are set up as twin rooms, so these will be available to book for two people in the first instance – we may free up some of these to be single occupancy later on.

There’s the option to book a single or shared room – if sharing with a colleague, you can both book separately and we will allocate you the same room.
