Britten Pears Arts delivers projects across East Suffolk to support the health and wellbeing of individuals and to strengthen communities. We create opportunities for local from all backgrounds and genres to build their music leadership skills in a variety of settings. Through paid training and experience delivered by skilled practitioners, we are keen to connect and support a diverse pool of artists to help us deliver our work in the local community.

Trainee Music Leaders Scheme (January – July 2022)

Together with Spitalfields Music, Britten Pears Arts are offering a traineeship for a musician based in East Anglia, who wants to develop their skills as a creative music workshop leader. The trainee music leader will receive hands on experience on creative projects, observe and learn from experienced music leaders, and reflect on their practise. We want to hear from musicians of all genres, and particularly encourage musicians and vocalists from underrepresented communities, and/ or D/deaf, disabled and neurodivergent, and musicians from lower income backgrounds.

Key dates:

– Online TML scheme Q&A session with partner organisations: 12.30-1.30pm, Wed 29 September 2021
– Application Deadline: 9am Mon 11 October 2021
– Group auditions: Fri 22 October (Snape Maltings, Suffolk)
– Follow-up interviews: w/c 25 October (online)
