In 2023 Vanishing Point will produce and present our next Unplugged show in partnership with promoters and venues of varying scales across Scotland, directed by an Associate Director (New Directions).

Fee: £5000
Dates: TBC but likely to be April – June 2023 (3/4 week rehearsal/creation + 3/4 week tour)
Location:  Glasgow and then touring across Scotland
Travel/Accommodation: Relocation fee payable if applicant is based out with Glasgow / Travel and accommodation will be organised and paid for and subsistence will be paid when on tour

The idea for the show could be yours, or your response to an idea of ours, but it must be possible to create based on the structural model of our previous Unplugged shows – that is, there will be a maximum of 3 people on tour and it must be able to ‘go anywhere’, with minimal technical requirements. We expect these constraints to influence and enrich the kind of show that you create. The show should offer ‘a good night out’. The show might (but not necessarily) involve an informal presentation style, a direct relationship with the audience, storytelling, humour, music – some of the elements our audiences have told us they enjoyed in previous Unplugged performances. It can be a pre-existing play, an adaptation or an idea that you want to devise in the rehearsal room. It should not be longer than an hour. Vanishing Point will produce this show to its usual professional standards, e.g. ITC/Equity contracts will be offered, and travel and accommodation will be provided and paid for.

There is a budget for:
3/4 weeks creation and/or rehearsal in Glasgow (or 1 week development and 2/3 weeks rehearsal)
Maximum of 2 Performers / Musicians
Maximum of 1 Stage manager / Technician
Set/Costume Designer and/or Sound Designer/Composer
Production budget of approx. £3000 (dependent on the needs of the idea)
