This is a specially funded position as part of the Theatre Artists Fund Pilot Programme, recognising the importance of the creative workforce and the way organisations are forming their recovery, following the impact of COVID-19 on UK theatres.

About THEATRE ARTISTS FUND

Between July 2020 and February 2022, THEATRE ARTISTS FUND (TAF) delivered emergency support for theatre workers and freelancers across the UK in need of critical financial aid, due to the devastating impact of COVID-19 on the theatre sector. In total, £9.9 million was raised to distribute 9,964 emergency grants, towards living costs such as rent, food, and electricity, alongside signposting to mental-health services.

Following research carried out during the pandemic, and a desire to support theatre freelancers in the longer-term, the founders of THEATRE ARTISTS FUND, working in conjunction with Backstage Trust and Theatre Development Trust, are exploring new opportunities to help benefit craft and technical practitioners. The TAF Pilot Programme has been designed to nurture, support and develop the creative workforce, in partnership with performing arts venues across the UK, and will operate until 2026.
