About 20 Photos
20 Photos is a service which takes the hundreds of photos on client’s phones and curates, edits and prints the 20 that tell their story. It is as much of an experience as it is a luxury product. It is unique in the marketplace.

We launched in January 2021 and enthusiasm is high. It is scalable and has a great uptake and feedback from clients. We have refined our processes and product delivery and options – we now open for bookings four times a year and are beginning our Winter Campaign now.

Behind the company are Jo (Photographer, Founder) and Alexa (Client Experience, Process). We also work with a small team of mentors and consultants. It is a collaborative and innovative company and we are excited about what we do.

The Role
At 20 Photos, we’re looking for someone to join us in growing the business by working on our outreach – marketing, creative and client acquisition.

Someone who can pick up and run with our plan.

This person will implement, analyse and evaluate (against the deliverables) how the strategy is working and refine the plan – proposing alternative strategies where it’s not working and amplification where it is working well.

This role will help us to stop being a ‘best kept secret’ and dramatically expand the awareness of 20 Photos. We are beginning our first campaign this winter and the person appointed will implement the plan.

We would like it to be disruptive and memorable.

Our winter campaign will be formed with three key areas:

Partnerships / affiliations
Press and digital advertising
Referrals
This person also will maintain our social following and community throughout – through education, process and inspiration.

There will be defined deliverables for the role which we will talk through during the interview.

The Person
We’re looking for someone who is:

A brilliant communicator

Highly personable and not afraid to make contact and form relationships with press / potential partners nor to follow up
Excellent with words (you’ll be writing our social media posts, updating our website and writing for the press)
Confident (but not boorish!) and enthusiastic about our brand and the experience we offer
Analytical and nimble

Reflecting on data, quickly evolving our plan to make sure we meet our targets
Creative

With an eye for when things are in tune with our brand (or not) and be able to put into words ‘why’ and propose how to develop/ build on it or suggest alternatives.
Be able to work creatively within the budgetary constraints of a start up.
Highly organised

You will be implementing a plan with many facets in order to meet the targets- it’ll require you to prioritise, for maximum impact with the right audiences.
Collaborative

We are a tiny, close knit team, building a company that we love to work in and on. We each have a nice level of autonomy, but also the honesty to ask each other’s opinions when we aren’t sure, so that we can make the best decisions with the information we have and then can move on quickly. It’s important to us that you’re a good fit.
Able to quickly make good and genuine relationships with potential partners and collaborators.
We’re looking for someone who is adaptable, enthusiastic, and professional.

The Logistics
We will liaise on campaign work through Asana (project management platform) and have a weekly check in meeting/call.

Both Jo and Alexa are based in Portobello, Edinburgh. It would be great if you were able to come in once a week for a team meeting, however not essential for the right person as long as you’re happy with Zoom!

You will need your own computer.

Hours are flexible in terms of timings but I would estimate between 8-12 hours per week.

Initially the role is from now until mid-December – there may be potential to extend it further.

Rate of pay would be £14 / hour and you will be self-employed, invoicing 20 Photos for hours worked.

We’re looking for someone to start as soon as possible.
