Customer Service Agent
Jewellery
Biography:

I have been a creative individual all of my life. What began as drawing and painting somehow grew into Jewellery making and design as well as Soap making and other related products.

I have recently decided to take my current creative skillset and improve upon it by undertaking courses that bring my creations up to a more professional standard and I am currently awaiting a start date to do so with Kelvin Colledge. I recently completed an accredited art therapy certificate with Udemy after a bout of depression and anxiety it was creativity and Art and Hiking that really helped me to battle my way back to "normality" Whatever that is.?

I am also in the process of working with Jobs and Business Glasgow, Business Gateway and New Enterprise Allowance to build upon and execute my current business plan.

I have previously worked in Retail and various other roles to help support myself and my son who is now almost sixteen (I feel so old lol) and working on achieving his highers at school.

If you would like to know any more please feel free to ask. 🙂

Scientist using creativity to spark conversations and smash stereotypes.
Retail
Biography:

Scientist, evidence-enthusiast, creative communicator.

Too often scientists are depicted as older white men, usually balding, with a love for oversized spectacles. In reality, Scientists are a hugely diverse group of people; lots of us are young women struggling to be taken seriously in a world that assumes we're there to make the tea for the men in suits sitting around the board room table.

Anyone that's not an able-bodied white cis man struggles to see themselves in science - Science On A Postcard is here to change that. I create products such as pin badges, postcard and notebooks, all with a science twist. These products are bright and colourful, allowing their users and wearers to make a statement about their identity before they even strike up a conversation.

Increasingly visibility of scientists in everyday lives not only ensures that the younger generation know that they have STEM role models walking among them, it also sparks conversations between the grown ups that aren't quite sure what this science thing is all about.
