The Creative Hustle: How Artists Make it Pay

November 15 @ 9:00 am 10:00 am

On this special edition of Elevenses Rachael Brown is joined by freelance creative practitioner Kathryn Welch to share the research findings from The Creative Hustle: How Artists Make it Pay project.

Through a series of frank interviews with creatives from all kinds of backgrounds and disciplines, this research sets out to understand and share freelancers’ experiences of piecing together a sustainable living in the arts. The aim of this work is to tackle taboos around talking about money, to help more people understand the challenges and opportunities of a career in the arts, and to share knowledge about how to make it work.

The research also offers challenges to employers and organisations about better practice to help more people feel able to make their living in the arts.

At the end of this conversation, the speakers will open up the discussion for attendees to ask questions and share their experiences.
